The NFL kickoff rule, golf championships, the Super Bowl and more. Real Truth Social posts about sports, with notes.
Sports come up on Donald Trump's Truth Social account more often than you might expect, especially golf and the NFL. He has posted about his own club championships, congratulated winners at the Masters and the Olympics, and spent more than a year campaigning against the NFL's new kickoff rule. Here are the most memorable ones, in date order, each with a short note and a link to the original post.
Some of his real tweets sound made up. Some made-up ones sound real. Guess which is which.

The best golf course in California, by far, is Trump National Los Angeles. Remember, it has the Pacific Ocean, Pebble Beach only has the Bay. In any event, enjoy this incredible piece of art!!!
Sorry football fans! Because the Super Bowl was held in Arizona, the results of the game, after a lengthy analysis currently taking place of the “holding” call, will not be known for at least 4 weeks. Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I hope that you thoroughly enjoyed the game!
Congratulations to Bernhard Langer on winning the 43rd U.S. Open Championship, while at the same time breaking the great Hale Irwin’s record as the “Winningest” Senior ever. That on top of one of the greatest golfing careers overall. Bernhard is a TRUE CHAMPION, and a great guy!!!
Such a tremendous honor to receive the Club Championship Trophy at Trump International Golf Club from the great Jack Nicklaus, a fantastic man and champion. It was a wonderful evening for all!
Khabib Nurmagomedov, who retired after a RECORD of 29-0, never having lost even a single round, is probably the Greatest Fighter of All Time. I met him at the UFC event on Saturday night in New Jersey. A really smart guy - Big things in the future for Khabib! DJT
Congratulations to Lydia Ko on winning the Olympic Gold Medal in Golf. I met her at Trump Turnberry in Scotland, and she is most impressive, not only with her Golf clubs, but also as a person. Way to go Lydia!
I can’t believe the NFL is effectively getting rid of the always exciting Kick Off Return. Such an exciting part of Football. What are they doing? BEGINNING OF THE END!
I hated seeing what the NFL did with the kickoff return. Saw it tonight at the Steelers/Jets game. When you have something that works, don’t “tinker” with it, you may end up with nothing!
The NFL should get rid of the ridiculous new Kickoff Rule!
It was my great honor to host the 2024 Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers at the White House today. Congratulations!
The worst part of the Super Bowl, by far, was watching the Kickoff where, as the ball is sailing through the air, the entire field is frozen, stiff. College Football does not do it, and won’t! Whose idea was it to ruin the Game?
Congratulations to Rory, what a great job he did! Tremendous courage and talent was on full display at yesterday’s Masters. What a WIN!!!
The NFL Draft is coming to Washington, D.C. in 2027!
Congratulations to the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball Champions—the Florida Gators!
Congratulations to Mya Lesnar on the WIN — Great Genetics!
In between meetings and phone calls, it was a Great Honor to win the Member-Member Championship, at Trump National, Bedminster (Gross, no strokes), with Tommy Urciuoli as my partner. The many other competitors were not only great Golfers, but also terrific people!
Winning the Senior Club Championship, and the Super Senior Club Championship, last weekend at Bedminster — But my heart wasn’t into it, my heart is only for the U.S.A.!
Keegan Bradley should DEFINITELY be on the American Ryder Cup Team - As Captain!!! He is an AMAZING guy. It will be a great Ryder Cup. At the invite of the PGA Tour, I will be there on Tournament Friday!!! President DJT
Great playing Golf with Jon Gruden — A really nice guy, and true character!
Doing a Flyover of the Tennis Center right now. We’ll be landing shortly. Should be a great Match!
Flying over Ryder Cup, now! DJT
Hard to watch the new NFL kickoff. It’s wrong on every level. They should end it, immediately. Bad for the game of football! President DJT
